Getting Started

How do I start tracking my spending?

Simply click "Start Tracking" on the homepage and begin adding your transactions. No account required! You can start immediately and your data will be stored locally on your device.

Do I need to create an account?

No! You can start immediately without an account. Your data will be stored in your browser. Creating an account allows you to access your data from multiple devices and keep it synced.

What information do I need to track?

Just four simple pieces: the amount spent, category (Food, Transport, etc.), whether it was needed/optional/impulsive, and an optional note. Takes 30 seconds per transaction.

Data & Features

How does the spending personality work?

After tracking at least 5 transactions, we analyze your patterns to identify your spending type. We look at factors like impulsive purchases, category preferences, and spending habits.

How accurate are the insights?

The insights improve with more data. With 5+ transactions, you'll get basic personality analysis. With 20+ transactions, the patterns become much more reliable and meaningful.

Understanding Your Insights

How many transactions do I need for insights?

You'll see basic spending breakdowns immediately. For personality insights, we recommend at least 5 transactions to get meaningful patterns, though more data provides better accuracy.

What are spending personalities?

Spending personalities are behavioral patterns we identify from your transaction data. Examples include "Impulse Snacker" (frequent food impulses) or "Social Spender" (weekend spending spikes).

How accurate are the personality insights?

We analyze spending patterns, timing, categories, and reflection responses. Accuracy improves with more data. Think of it as a mirror for self-reflection, not absolute truth.

Features & Usage

Can I edit or delete transactions?

Currently, transactions cannot be edited or deleted to maintain data integrity for insights. If you make a mistake, simply add a correcting transaction with a note explaining the adjustment.

Is there a mobile app?

Not yet, but our web app is fully responsive and works great on mobile browsers. You can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.

Troubleshooting

My data disappeared after clearing browser data

Guest user data is stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing browser data, using incognito mode, or switching devices will reset your data. Consider creating an account to prevent this.

The insights page shows "Not enough data"

Add more transactions! You need at least 5 transactions for personality insights. Basic spending breakdowns appear immediately with any number of transactions.
