How do I start tracking my spending?
Spenrol is launching soon on Android. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the moment it's live — then log in with your phone number, set your monthly budget and categories, and start adding transactions, either manually or by sharing a payment screenshot into the app.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. Your budget and transactions are tied to your Spenrol account, which keeps your data synced and secure across devices. You'll log in with your phone number and a one-time password (OTP) — no passwords to remember.
What information do I need to log a transaction?
The amount, the category, and whether it was required, optional, or impulse. An optional note too, if you want one.
How do budgets work?
Set a total monthly budget and split it across categories (food, travel, bills, etc.). When you plan a payment, Spenrol checks it against the category's remaining limit before you pay.
What happens at the end of the month?
You choose how to roll over: Reset carries forward the same category structure and limits into the new month, or Carry Forward adds any unused budget from last month into the new month's total, spread across your categories.
What is the Smart Spending Score?
A score out of 100 based on how much of your spending was tagged required, optional, or impulse. It's a mirror for self-reflection on your spending habits, not a judgment or a credit-style rating.
How accurate is it?
It's calculated directly from how you tag each transaction, so the more consistently you tag, and the more transactions you log, the more useful it becomes.
Can I split an expense with other people?
Yes. When adding an expense, turn on split-bill, enter how many people are sharing it, and Spenrol will track just your share against your budget.
Can I import a transaction from a payment screenshot?
Yes — share a payment screenshot into Spenrol and it will read the details on your device and pre-fill a transaction for you to review and save. The screenshot itself isn't uploaded anywhere.
Can I edit or delete transactions?
Yes — got a category wrong or made a mistake? Edit or delete any transaction in the app, any time.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet — we're putting the finishing touches on it. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the day it's live on Android, with iOS to follow.
What alerts can I turn on?
In Settings, you'll be able to enable: a warning when you're nearing a category limit, a daily spend summary, and a reminder to set up your budget at the start of each month.
My Smart Spending Score looks off
Double-check how you tagged your recent transactions — required, optional, or impulse. The score is calculated directly from those tags, so a mis-tagged entry will skew it.
