Terms and conditions for using Spenrol
Last updated: July 28, 2026
These terms govern your use of Spenrol ("the app"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Spenrol is developed and operated by Shreyash Mogaveera, an individual developer — it is not offered by a registered company.
Spenrol is a personal budgeting and expense-tracking tool. It lets you set monthly budgets and log expenses against them. Spenrol also lets you import a transaction from a shared payment screenshot, and split a logged expense across multiple people for your own tracking.
Spenrol is not a payment service, bank, lender, or payment aggregator.
It does not hold, transmit, process, or have custody of your funds at any point, and has no functionality to initiate or complete a payment. All figures in the app are amounts you enter yourself to track a budget.
- You log in using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone number. You must provide a phone number you control; you may not use someone else's number to create an account.
- You're responsible for keeping access to that phone number secure and for activity that happens under your account, including on any device where you stay signed in.
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
- Abuse the OTP login flow (e.g. requesting OTPs for phone numbers you don't control).
- Reverse engineer the app beyond what's permitted by applicable law.
Spenrol provides no financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Budget alerts, the Smart Spending Score, and category insights are tools to help you reflect on your own spending habits — they are not recommendations and should not be relied on as such.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the budgets, categories, and transactions you create or import — whether entered manually or pre-filled from a shared screenshot. Spenrol is not liable for manual entry errors, mis-tagged transactions, or discrepancies between your logged data and your actual spending.
We aim to keep the app available and your data intact, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access — the service may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, or issues with third-party infrastructure we depend on (including our SMS provider for OTP delivery).
You may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spenrol and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
